Hey there! I’m Melissa Lopez,
the contemporary artist behind Mel Lo Designs working primarily with acrylic paint and texture mediums.
I am a self taught artist from Central Pennsylvania who rediscovered my passion for art during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic. Having not painted since college, I found solace and comfort in the ability to reconnect with that part of my soul and create beautiful works during an uncertain and scary time.
Always inspired by nature, I attempt to capture the beauty that surrounds us. Combining intentional color palettes, luscious brush strokes, and layered textures to create landscapes and seascapes that invoke a sense of calm and wonder.
When I’m not creating a gorgeous mess in my home studio, I’m probably spending time with my husband and our dog, Zeppelin, at or near our home or traveling to one of my favorite beaches. Water gives me life!
